Clearly just a place that would prey on an unsuspecting vacationer. After visiting OC for a third time I stumbled upon this place since my fiancés feet were a little tired after our second time up and down the boardwalk. It's honestly not even worth a review but I had to warn people... eat ANYWHERE else but here. It's filthy, with the most overpriced and disgusting food I've ever seen or tasted. The garlic bread seemed like it was pulled out of a toxic spill up, my "Mediterranean kabob" was overlooked and dry, like it has been sitting in a warm marinade of Italian dressing in the sun... Disgusting. My fiancés linguine w/clams...which I advised against since we didn't really know the place yet were worse than I though they could ever be, a bowl of watery grease and closed clams... My fiancé also mentioned to me the restroom looked like a construction zone that was abandoned. Our poor waitress however was so sweet, and you can see the genuine sadness in her eyes as she tried to keep us happy...not her fault about the poor quality of "food". When Grotto pizza (which is ok) tastes like a three Michelin star restaurant afterwards, you know this place has problems. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This resturaunt has a large menu hanging on the deck next to the boardwalk. The prices on this menu attracted us to go inside. Once inside we realized that the prices on the outside and the prices on the menu were on average 5 $ more on the menu than outside. We asked why and a good answer could not be given. When we asked for a manager they said the manager was not on the premises. We proceeded to attempt to order and what we wanted was not available. The steak they said they had on the outside hanging menu was not even on the menu inside. On top of all this the table was sticky and wet. The benches on the outside picnic table were loose. When a person in charge came over (not a manager) he was extremely rude. We decided this was not the place for us to eat. We should have listened to all the other 1 star reviews on yelp but wanted to try it for ourselves. This was without a doubt the worst dinning experience I have ever had at any resturaunt ever and I didn't even get to try the food. However according to all the other reviews the food is horrible anyways. Avoid this place at all costs.

Overpriced and overrated... My wife and I initially walked in because the kabob got our attention, however, we quickly realized that this establishment was just way overpriced for the food they serve. Ended up ordering a cheesesteak and it ahould have been called "cheeseveggies" instead because it only had a small amount of steak on one side of the sandwich and the other it did not. When I complained to the waiter, he told me the kitchen informed him that was their portion and there was nothing they could do (worst move if you want to keep a customer). The sandwich (I call it a sandwich because it would be an insult to call it a cheesesteak) was tasty though, but overpriced considering it was just a bun with veggies. My wife ordered a pasta and the bottom of the plate was covered in about half a cup of oil. The location was pretty nice. Couldn't really see the boardwalk because we had big umbrellas right beside us. The waiter was really nice and helpful and that is the only reason I am giving two stars.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Everything was covered in grease, the pizza was pre froze (cheese had ice on it), the crab soup tasted rancid, and the broccoli was Sicilians because it was old. Disgusting, avoid at all cost. The owner of this establishment has some serious work to do. Either fix your food and staff or get out of the food industry. The boardwalk has no room for an idiot who doesn't realize that his/her food sucks. You are going to get someone sick and injure them with the practices that you have. The health department of Maryland should inspect this place!!!!

Told me they were out of water. Other than that, it was a decent place for brunch. Spaghetti meatball and breakfast platter were both good .

Horrible service. One star only for food which was ok. If you come here be prepared to wait and wait lot. First we were waiting for drinks, then for food. Horrible service. One star only for food which was ok. If you come here be prepared to wait and wait a lot. First we were waiting for drinks, then for food. When waitress brought food she didn't bring forks, knives, napkins.... We asked her , she said: oh, that's right, sorry. We thought that she would be right back because we already had food on the table, but no. We had to wait for another 10-15 minutes. By the time she finally came back, the food was already cold. By the end of our dinner we were waiting for her to come and ask for the check. No, no one came. We had to ask another waitress, she tried to find our waitress but it was in vain. Finally after another 10 minutes of waiting we finally paid to another waitress. Ours came only to collect her tips... We left her $3, because it was just horrible service.

First the good news - It's on the OC Boardwalk and you can watch the passing show. Now the bad news - Hope you didn't come here for anything to eat! The kitchen doesn't do much well, most of the servers don't speak much English, the timing of food out of the kitchen is terrible. "But wait," you say "aren't your expectations a bit high for a Boardwalk restaurant?". I'd say yes, except these folks don't charge "Boardwalk" prices. I expect better value for these prices. So, stay away from a full meal. Maybe a beer, and some calamari to watch the show with. You're at the Boardwalk, go get a corn dog for dinner, save yourself the wait, the aggravation and the expense.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT food and service! Man, the food is amazing. Anything we ordered was extremely great. It was so good that we went there for the brunch the day after and was not disappointed. It is a little pricey but it worth every penny. For late lunch/dinner my husband ordered Pasta with Vodka sauce and I ordered the pesto pasta. Appetizer was calamari and desert was tiramisu. One glass on wine and two beer and one cappuccino, it was $110 including the tip. The day after I had the medd. omelet and my husband had eggs, pancakes and french toast. They were great! came around $30 including coffee and lemonade and tip. The cook deserves to get laid all the time! :)) He/she is a great cook!

Service and food are sub par, the European help on the boardwalk is great, everywhere but here. Watched two parties sit down and walk out after not being acknowledged beyond the initial "sit wherever you like". Pizza and food and service is better all around at Piezanos a block up (higher in street numbers)

Worst Italian food I ever had. I would advise anyone against eating the food there. After we were seated we were brought a garlic bread that looked like it was dumped in an olive oil container. It was just dripping oil. Our waiter kept coming over and told us there were problems in the kitchen. Great. After our food arrived my noodles were undercooked and the sauce seemed like an afterthought thrown on the side of the dish. My husband's beef marsala was barely edible. The sauce tasted like flour which they probably used to thicken the sauce. The beef was the cheapest cut and overall the food was not what I expected when I pay that price. To add to the ambience a drunken teenager threw up on the floor at the table next to us. Overall I never felt so overcharged for eating out.

A more appropriate name for this place would be Flavors of the Bathroom Floor! Seriously, pass on this place unless your used to jarred sauce, high amounts of salt and finishing it off with tons of Pepto. I want our money back! I guess we should've known what we were getting into when the waitress argued that their 'Pinot Noir is White'. Epic Fail! Maybe eat at the Dough Roller instead.

I should've known as soon as we went to sit down that this place would be bad business. The hostess brought us inside & told the waiter he had a table, to which he said "No, I can't take that" & they went back & forth awkwardly in front of us. We were at a table on a porch that was extremely humid with none of the fans above us running. We liked 3 of the 4 plates that were brought out for us. When leaving, we needed change to pay the check & asked the hostess. She stopped two servers to ask if they had change & they flat out said "No" & kept walking. I asked her if she could get some for us from the cash register, she said they didn't have one & literally walked away to talk to someone else! I was standing there with a handful of money dumbfounded. We were openly annoyed & the same waitress that said she didn't have change finally reached into her pocket & pulled out a wad of money asking what we needed. It was an awkward, rude, hot breakfast. There won't be a next time.

Alright first of all, I was having a very splendid day until I came to this god forsaken place. Never have I ever been so disrespected by this foolishness and an embarrassment of a "restaurant". Prices are jacked, there is no toilet paper, and the "lemonade" is water with lemon. Never eat here. Our waiter was really nice and had the best intentions, but he failed to have basic waiter skills.

The service is good and the ocean front view is beautiful. Unfortunately, the food is subpar and very overpriced. The meal started off with challah like bread covered in oil, garlic, and grated cheese. It was a very unsettling take on garlic bread. For lunch, I had the chicken parmigiana. The plate was consisted of mostly spaghetti and tomato sauce with only a quarter breast of chicken; if I wanted spaghetti, then I would have ordered that. Afterwards, I felt a little queasy; fortunately, I felt better after a nice walk down the boardwalk.

WORST PLACE TO EAT IN OCEAN CITY !!!! Service is slow and horrible the place is soo dirty and food is terrible and the prices are high

Piss poor service, left before getting served. Arrived and were seated outside. My mom was greeted with some green sauce-like slop on her forearm when resting her arms on the tablecloth (seagull poop, old food- your guess as good as mine). Asked server for crayons for the kids coloring menu and he responded they didn't have any. After a couple seconds he actually went to ask and was able to locate crayons (yay!). When asking about beer selection I asked what Sam Adams was on the menu. He said "yes, Sam Adams in his Russian accent" I asked if it was the summer ale, he responds "it's the normal one, Sam Adams". Soon after we left.

Just ate here this weekend & we had a very good experience. The food was delicious (particularly the 'mozzarella cakes' appetizer), & the waiter (real name is Boban but goes by Bobby) was very pleasant & prompt.

Had lunch here in Aug 2013. The restrooms were filthy. Food was barely acceptable and took WAY too long considering how few customers there were. Server spoke English so poorly that ordering was a problem. There must be some very flax health department standards at the beach because this place was gross. It's not like there is fine dining on the boardwalk (not my expectation) but this place place makes no effort whatsoever.

We stopped here for an early dinner and sat outside. It is right next to the kite store (lots of kites and flags outside) and right on the boardwalk (great people watching!). They have early bird specials, essentially several of the pasta dishes with a $3 discount. I got the spaghetti marinara and it was excellent. The sauce was clearly made with fresh ingredients (I don't agree with the reviewer who said the sauce tasted like Chef-boy-ardee!) My husband and my son both got the pizzas and they really liked them. The service was excellent and our waitress was attentive and friendly. I will definitely return if I come back to Ocean City.

After seeing the near 4 star rating on Yelp, we decided to give Flavors of Italy a try on our third night in Ocean City. Long story short we were disappointed. The food was the same quality as Olive Garden. The pasta and meals were all quick heat/boil in a bag. The cheese ravioli was sub-par, and even my daughter's spaghetti seemed like it came from a can. My wife's chicken parmigiana was very dry and overdone. The one bright spot was my son's personal size pepperoni pizza. the dough seemed fresh and the pizza appeared to be handmade and it was tasty. I wish I could have said the same for the rest of the food. I would avoid this restaurant and just go to Hooter's next door.

This is a nice little Italian restaurant right on the boardwalk. The service was very fast and friendly. The food is not bad but make sure you don't have a heart condition because it is drenched in butter. Just about everything had a gallon of butter. The prices are average for a boardwalk dinner. All in all not bad.

  • Michelle C.

The food was so good and they had big portions but don't sit inside. As soon as the food came out flies swarmed me and my food so much so that we had to move outside. The wait staff were also too busy flirting with one another to pay attention to anything else.

There are 2 things I care about most when dining out: Customer Service and the Food, both of which were of very poor quality at Flavors of Italy. For starters, the bread was flavorless, the mozzarella cake was overcooked and the bruschetta was cooked on the same flavorless bread. Our entrees were even worse, the veal parm was dry and overcooked, the mussels were not seasoned at all, the meatballs tasted like they were from a can and all of the pasta dishes were overcooked and flavorless. Finally, after we gave our feedback to both the server and manager, they refused to comp us, not even 20% off or removal of one meal that was not eaten at all. If you happen to get stuck going here, the pizza is okay. But if you have a choice, go somewhere else.

If you don't mind being served after people who arrive after you and like your eggs only scrambled, then this is the breakfast place for you on the boardwalk! We had a wide breakfast selection as you can see from my menu pic of: Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Bacon, Sausage & Pancakes; Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Bacon, Sausage & French Toast; Crepes. It did not appear as if any of the wait staff knew what they were doing, or they got stuck with the early shift after a late night shift the night before - regardless, service is deplorable (not the waiters' fault) but the first meal of the day was acceptable for the price.

Do not waste your time or money here. Yes, the food is alright, but the service is TERRIBLE. It is horribly slow. You will wait, and wait, and wait. Take my advice and avoid this place.

As your choices are some what limited on the boardwalk for sit down edible food. So here goes, it's got an open atmosphere and being on the beach that's a plus. The food is hooters doing its best to step up and get with a menu that's evolving to match other restaurants. Being more family friendly. A full liquor bar helps. It's hooters,

We've eaten at Flavors ofr Italy a couple of times and we liked it. The food is good and our waiter really took pains to give us a pleasant experience. he went over the wine choices with us and checked several times to see if we needed anything. I got veal parmesan and my husband got linguini with garlic. We both liked what we got and the portions are huge. Luckily we had a hotel room with a microwave and refrigerator. We will always go back.

This place gets three stars because the food was actually pretty good: fresh French fries, well-marinated chicken and steak kabob, nicely diced Greek salad. Too bad we waited for someone to seat us for 5 minutes. We awkwardly stood on the boardwalk at an empty hostess stand for what felt like forever. We finally when we walked into the inside. We would have stood there for at least another 15 minutes without help, I'm sure. It took a while to get our food and we didn't get great service. Again, I don't know why as the place was empty. Our waiter brought our check with out asking if we wanted anything else. My husband ordered another beer and the check had to be re-printed. My husband ordered a Corona. They brought him a Corona Light.

The Meal We Almost Had... Cattivo! We happened upon this "restaurant" when we were famished on the boardwalk. We asked the waitress if she had inside seating available - her response was "it's better outside." We were seated outside with a nice view of the ocean. The tables surrounding us were cluttered with used dishes and food scraps, apparently having not been cleared in quite a while. After looking over the odd (falling apart) menu; a mix of Italian dishes along with kabobs and burgers, we ordered expensive dishes. The waitress went inside and we didn't see her again for at least 20 minutes when she decided to bring us a complimentary "garlic bread" and dirty plates - mind you, this was not like any garlic bread I've ever seen. It looked as though they ran down the boardwalk and got fried dough from one of the other places and then smothered it in cups of oil with a weird garlicky/cheesy chunky smear on top. We pushed that ghastly thing away. After another 10 minutes, we decided we should get up and leave after thinking about how our stomachs would feel after the meal. One of our party went inside to tell the waitress who made him talk to the manager (understandable or she would have been screwed over.) He said it was "disgusting" in there. With dirty dishes all over and the kitchen was a mess. We saved our $60+ and left as soon as we could. Later, we looked at the reviews and couldn't believe what we read. Flies on the ceiling? No wonder she told us to sit outside... We are so glad we didn't eat there, though we would like to go back to just look at the disaster they call a restaurant.

I really did not want to give this place a one star but.....we found a DEAD fly in our salad! We came here with a group of 8 girls and they sat us outside. We ordered 4 entrees and some appetizers to share. The gnocchi (appetizer) and the salmon with penne vodka (entrée) were both pretty delicious. The one thing that pretty much ruined all our appetites was a dead fly on the greek salad that we ordered with the kebabs. We sat outside but the fly looked like it was dead and had fallen in the salad that way. The trip from the restaurant door to our outside table was not very long either so the fly either a. flew into our plate and committed suicide in the 20 second the plate had been outside OR b. the fly was already dead in the restaurant and somehow fell into our plate. This was enough to spoil our appetite. I would love to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt since they tried to replace the salad, either way I don't think I would return!

So the journey began by stumbling into the "flavors of Italy" after a late night of drinking. Lemme tell you the ceiling is black so you can't see all the flys, but focus the ceiling moves. Also the food was definitely deadly literally cut my mouth on the home fries. I think they were sun dried. I feel bad for whoever works there the owner needs to be arrested for assault and robbery on all the customers. DO NOT GO HERE. Just eat the sand from the beach it's safer.

Horrible service and horrible food. The waiter told us that the spicy island seafood was really good and after 30 minutes of waiting, it turns out it was terrible and weighed down with too much curry. We sent our food back and they still made us pay and they were not apologetic about it all. We asked to speak to the manager and she refused to come see us. I would never suggest to eat there to anyone.

During my stay in Ocean City, Maryland my boyfriend and I came here for a late lunch. We sat outdoors where we enjoyed a nice breeze and was greeted about our waitress and asked what beverages do we want to start with so we told her. Minutes later she brought us our drinks and I ordered a seltzer with a slice of lemon, but she gave me just ice water and lemon and claimed the machine was broken and couldn't get me seltzer so I decided to pick a root beer. Moving on, after we ordered our entrees. Two customers went up to our waitress to discuss about the food and and we were there to witness the whole argument. The waitress was aware that we witnessed the whole scene and came over to apologize that we saw it all and was explaining the situation. She finally brought out my drink. I really only wanted one drink but she brought out another seltzer and root beer which is good and bad. Next our food came as well as half loaf of garlic bread. My boyfriend ordered the crab cakes with a side of broccoli tossed in a garlic oil. His crab cakes were very moist and tasty, but wasn't too thrilled when I bit on a shell. I liked his broccoli a lot because it was al dente and had a nice garlic and herb-like aroma. I ordered the Oak Grilled Salmon with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The oak grilled salmon had an herb crust which was a little spicy - too much black pepper! The salmon was soft, moist, and gentle. As I worked my way towards the middle of the salmon, I noticed a small section of it was still semi-raw and was a little inedible. I wanted to tell our waitress about it, but decided to just go along with it. The garlic mashed potatoes was too oily and buttery and didn't taste like garlic at all. After we finished our food, we asked for our check. The waitress brought out our check and said to us up front - 'Hopefully you'll pay" and grinned a bit. In my eyes and heart, I felt this was completely unprofessional. It was already unprofessional to begin with when she was arguing with two customers. I mean, what kind of server says that to us or customers in general? So she didn't charge me for the one and two extra drinks she brought out which is good and bad because good that she recognized the mistake she made with us but bad for her and the restaurant because they are losing money by giving us three free drinks. Would I return to this restaurant? Probably not because of the unprofessional acts we've witnessed at the restaurant and the food wasn't quite on point. I would definitely not want to experience a waitress telling me she hopes we'll pay.

I guess it's to be expected, Ocean City Boardwalk front eateries are pricey. My spaghetti and meatballs (two meatballs to be exact) was overpriced at $15 but tasty as far as appeasing my appetite was concerned. It also came with a small loaf of garlic bread, though the loaf was strangely on the sweet side (like a Hawaiian or Portuguese roll style), smothered in garlic, herbs and butter. It hit the spot after an afternoon of drinking but probably wouldn't have crossed my radar otherwise. The couple next to me seemed disappointed that the dessert menu was limited from the one advertised. They did meet my request for linguini instead of spaghetti and the ocean front patio is about as good as it gets here.

This place was absolutely DISGUSTING! Felt like I was eating in a public restroom! The quality of the food was horrible too! The homefries were comparable to eating a bag of rocks. And if you look closely at the ceiling you will see it moving, cuz it's covered in flies!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

3.5 stars After a long drive into OC and doing the beach all day, me and the kids decided to walk the boardwalk in search of a late dinner.Flavors of Italy was still open so it was on. The staff seated us outside on the deck as I requested. We were the only ones out there so it was quiet except for the ocean surf and board walkers. Our server was upbeat and eager to please. She took our drink order and immediately brought bread with garlic and olive oil. Wasting no time I ordered fried cheese ravioli in a spicy marinara sauce, the kids went with Coconut Shrimp (8.95) and Popcorn Shrimp (8.95) as their entrees. I followed my app with Baked Ziti, (11.00) hey I'm on vacation, no calorie counting now. The service was fast as we were hungry, no complaints there. The kids meals were OK the coconut shrimp were nothing special, satisfying but a little bland. the fried ravioli was tasty but cooked about a minute too much, the sauce was good. But my Baked Ziti really surprised me, it was very good. I could tell it was a "quick" bake, the al dente Ziti in the creamy vodka sauce was unexpectedly awesome. I ate all of it and maybe wiped some porcelain away with the bread getting every last drop. Dinner came to about 50 bucks without tip. Like the terminator, I'll be back. Two thumbs up for Flavors of Italy !
